Cafe au Lait

Taking what I thought were dahlias to the cash register, I was surprised when the salesperson said the flowers’ price was double the cost listed on the bucket per bundle-

“These are special, incredibly sensitive dahlias, Cafe au Lait –

we only get them into our market at this certain time of year”

I marveled at the flowers’ exceptional beauty. Withered petals and droopy stems  surely deter certain buyers, but these quirky characteristics sold me.

Supremacy in nature – why settle for less?
